Maltipoos

What are Maltipoos?

Have you ever wished your puppy would never grow up? While you can’t stop their aging, you can get a dog that maintains a puppy-like appearance for most of their lives. Maltipoos are a mix of the Maltese and Poodle breeds. They have a rounded head, small stature, and floppy ears that make all your puppy dreams come true.

A Maltipoo is the result of Poodle and Maltese parents. This breed boasts the high intelligence of the Poodle and the sweet temperament of the Maltese. The Maltipoo is a loving, affectionate companion. They are generally considered wonderful family dogs and are great for first-time dog owners. These puppies are affectionate, playful, and clever. These precious pups enjoy an active lifestyle to help work off their energy.
Personality
Maltipoos are sweet, affectionate dogs that make incredible companions. When you are searching for a loyal companion for the entire family, you can’t go wrong with a Maltipoo. Maltipoos tend to remain young and energetic throughout the duration of their lives. The intelligence of a Maltipoo combined with the sweetness of the Maltese makes Maltipoos relatively easy to train.
Health Expectations
Cross breeds tend to obtain many health benefits by taking the best genetic traits from each of the parents. However, no breed is invulnerable to health concerns. Understanding some of the most common health issues you may face with your Maltipoo will help you to keep your dog healthy.

Poodles tend to be predisposed toward eye problems, such as cataracts or progressive retinal atrophy. This may cause your Maltipoo to be similarly susceptible to these eye problems. Have their eyes examined by a veterinarian on a regular basis to identify any potential problems.
Life Expectancy
Maltipoos generally live anywhere from 10 to 15 years, depending on their genetics, lifestyle, and many other factors. The average lifespan of a Maltipoo tends to be around the 14 year mark, which makes them a particularly long-lived breed.
